28, 2005, from Barry Coyle:
I just set up profiles for Sam Faulk, Bobbie Gravitt, Joyce
(Hatcher) Stewart, and Jerry (Schultz) Wise.
I want to let everyone know that we came out fine on expenses
and moneys collected - have a few hundred dollars left over is
all! That's good, as we did the reunion on a shoe string. Thanks
for everyone's contributions.
If you have't filled out a profile (see the Sharing page),
please take some time and do so. Everyone enjoys reading about
what has happened to each of us since we left high school. You
can just send me information as well and I'll set up your profile
in the Members Found section.
Some who thought they might make the reunion just couldn't get
away or had some difficulty getting there:
From Nancy (Thurman) Archer: "It's
a long story, but while driving home from Modesto, the I-5
was TOTALLY shut down at the Grapevine. My grandson and I managed
to escape the literally thousands of stranded cars which didn't
heed the that ALL vehicles were to leave the freeway. We had
to take the way around Maricopa, Angeles Forest, Pine Mountain,
etc. By the time we got to Ventura, I wasn't able to pick up
my own two daughters to bring them along. Jonah (grandson)
and I drove straight to the beach, jumped out of the car barefooted & extremely rumpled
just to see if there was anyone still there. Thankfully, we did
find a few people to hug, etc. I was glad for even that little
bit of time. Even more so, very thankful to have made it home
okay, rather than be sitting in that "pile" of cars,
stretching all the way back to Bakersfield. They were supposed
to START opening the road again at midnight!"
From Neal Mace: "I had hoped to drive down
today to attend the reunion, but my 17 year old daughter had
her impacted wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, which disrupted our
family's regular schedule, so I have to send my regrets. It would
have been interesting to catch up on everyone's lives."
From Rick Graey: "Hi, just wanted to let you
know that I won't be able to make it to the reunion (you will
probably know it
before you get this message). I was so close. I had my high school
basketball team at a camp at Wesmont College (for a team camp)
and had it planned to have the kids transported back to Eureka
by my assistant coach and another parent. My assistant had an
emergency and had to leave camp and I was left as the only school
official to take the kids home. So, that's what I did. Thanks
for all the great information that you sent everyone's way (it's
almost like I have been to the reunion!) and I will look forward
to visiting the website and enjoy the reunion from my computer.
This is the first one I have missed! Take care and thanks for
all your time and effort. Rick."
