Comments: I am one of those fortunate people who knew early on what I wanted to do with my life. From the age of fourteen, acting was my calling, and after studying with Mr. Shanahan and Mr. Street at Ventura High School, teaching was too. I am now a professor at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, teaching both Theater Arts and English as a Second Language. I’ve earned a Master of Fine Arts in Drama from USC and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from UCLA. Administrative positions such as Amnesty Coordinator, Department Chairperson for the Arts and Humanities Department, and PACE Director (an accelerated program for working adults) have rounded out my tenure. My husband, Blair Megowan, is also from Ventura. We became sweethearts at Ventura College, transferred to UCLA together and have now been married 28 years. We live in Glendale and we love to travel. Our vacation adventures have included Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Great Britain, several European countries, and recently, Egypt. I am also a professional actress (AKA Lorraine Barkley) and have appeared on stage, film and television. I have also been featured in several Spanish as well as English-speaking commercials most notably, MacDonald’s and the California Lottery.
